That’s a Lotta Spunk for a Tiny Tamale!

Over the weekend, Molly Tamale attended an informal shindig at a friend’s house with us to help them break in a couple new Christmas presents (a fire pit and a new smoker…gotta love January in Nashville!)  We had been told that she’s “good with other dogs,” and we knew that she and Oscar were thick as thieves already, but we thought we’d really put her to the test.

You see, Jenny and Mike don’t just have dogs – they have three dogs.  Three big dogs…Sebastian, Bella and Bogart.

We weren’t quite sure how little Molly Tamale would fare among this established pack of giants, but since she holds her own against Oscar well enough, we just had to give it a shot.  Oscar loves these guys and always has a blast when we visit, not to mention that their huge backyard is doggie nirvana:

Lots of green space to run around, a shed to circle and hide behind, and a huge deck with stairs to run up and down, all within the safety of an 8' fence. What else could a pup ask for??

We started with a customary “introduction” period with Molly on the leash and plenty of time to sniff around and figure out her surroundings.  After it seemed Molly was comfortable, we dropped the leash and hilarity ensued!

Oscar has missed his buddy, Bella!

Bella: "Hmm, you're new. What's your story?"

Five dogs = five times the fun!

Come get me! Come get me! Come get me!

Bella: "You can't hide from me, might as well come out and play!"

Oscar: "See, I don't mind sharing toys, as long as they're not mine!"

Bella seemed especially taken with Molly, which Jenny and Mike found particularly surprising.  Bella is the clear Alpha of their pack, and with Molly we were bringing in another female, and you never know what you’re gonna get in that situation.  Well I guess Molly found the perfect balance of non-threatening-ness and hold-her-own-ness, because all five dogs got along amazingly well.  She may be little, but she’s got spunk to spare.  They all had a blast, and of course Oscar and Molly came home exhausted.  And since Molly hadn’t gotten one since she moved in, we decided it was the perfect opportunity for Bath Night (duh-duh-duh).  Check back tomorrow to hear about all the Bath Time fun!
